Pocket-Spiro®
family …. more than spirometers !

A complete
range of handheld spirometers
The
Pocket-Spiro® range was especially developed by calling upon the new advanced
wireless data communication processing technologies (Bluetooth, USB, GPRS)
towards PDA ,PC and internet servers, with the close cooperation of respiratory
experts in physiology and in strict conformity with the ATS and ERS standards
currently in strength (2005).
The
Pocket-Spiro®
range of inexpensive, easy-to-use, handheld spirometers provide accurate and
reliable spirometry and respiratory measurements. There is a model to suit all
clinical areas including home, GP, hospital, occupational health and even sleep
labs or ICU.
The
Pocket-Spiro is much more than a spirometer !
Because the
Pocket-Spiro® is evolutive and upgradeable, you can use it also for respiratory
mechanics, walk test and respiratory monitoring .
Accessible
anywhere and to all
-
Disigned
for easy transport, conceived for the children in order to improve their participation
in the respiratory tests.
-
Increased
safety and freedom for both the user and your patient.
-
Wireless
communication towards PDA or PC.
Spirometry
The
Pocket-Spiro® is a pneumotachometer device of high precision, portable,
reliable, robust, handy, compact and easy to use to realize easily and quickly
both :
Slow
spirometry
with
determination of static volumes:
Vital
Capacity (VC), IN and Expiratory Reserve Volume (IRV, ERV), Inspiratory
Capacity (IC) and Tidal Volume (VT)., Inspiratory Time (Ti), Total Time , (Ttot),Ti/Ttot
etc…

Forced
spirometry
with
flow-volume curves and associated times-volume curves and determination of :
FEV0.75,
FEV1, FEV3, FEV6, FVC, PEF, FEV0.75/VC, FEV0.75/FVC,FEV1/VC, FEV1/FVC,
FEV3/VC, FEV3/FVC, FEV0.75/FEV6, FEV1/FEV6,MEF75, MEF50,MEF25,MEF25-75,
FEF50/VC, FEF50FVC,FET, IC, FIV1, FIVC, PIF, FIV1, /FIVC, FIF25, FIF50,
FIF75, FIF50/MEF50 etc..
Enhenced Spirometry.

The PDI spirometry software
allows you to perform in real time a complete spirometry with:
1. PRE-POST bronchodilatator comparison
2. Bronchial challenge test with FEV1 ( and Rocc *) dose-response curve.
3. Spirometry interpretation with quality control, lung age estimation.
4. The software include also a series of paediatric incentive animations.
Respiratory mechanics:
The high precision solid state mouth pressure transducer and the optional
modules allow the measurement of lung mechanics and muscles strengths:
• PIMax / PEMax
• Sniff
• P.1
• Rocc
• static and dynamic compliance
…and other important measurements necessary to differentiate difficult
respiratory disorders.
Respiratory monitoring :

Further on,
the Pocket-Spiro® can also be equipped for sleep studies ,Walk test
and ventilation survey. For exemple:
Pulse oxymeter SpO2 and
Heart Rate monitoring.
Respiratory inductive
plethysmography RIP (V thorax, V abdomen, V tot)
for differentiation between obstructive and central apnoea
Nose and mouth flow
monitoring during sleep (NAF) with high sensitivity
pressure sensor
Sidestream EtCO2
with fast response analyser (90 ms)
Dual channel EMG
for survey of respiratory accessory muscles activity during non-invasive
ventilation.

The data can be
real-time viewed on a Bluetooth PDA or PC to follow up the signals and check for
potential artefacts.
The collected
Cardio Respiratory parameters and the curves are recorded with the date and the
hour of the test on a SD memory card. The data’s may be readed and restored via
suitable database software for further analysis, calculation, interpretation,
report edition with associated protocols via internet, printer, etc..
Communication
with patient data records and telemedicine application
Thanks to MEC
PDI software, the data of your patient may be automatically loaded from your
medical file to the PDI (XML, ASCII, HL7, BDT/GDT format are supported).
No need
anymore to manually introduce the patient data again and again.
Of course all
the results and reports may be exported by the same way. This feature
facilitates the management of the data and decreases the risks of errors related
to on the bad readings or manual encoding of the data. The MEC
PDI software is really network minded!.
The
Pocket-Spiro GPR100 is a complete solution for respiratory clinical trial.
Once
programmed the spirometer will transmit real time or one time a day all the
spirometry data and curves to a web server. The web server may be accessed
trough internet for complete follow up of the patient and results overview.

User
friendly and easy “Report Designer”
As
far as report documentation is concerned, you will be supported by the new MEC
PFT Report Server program, which provides you several handy report tools on the
basis on which you can clearly structure and tailor each reporting to your
individual needs and integrate your headings and hospital or practice logos.
MEC PFT report
can be evaluated on screen before printed on paper and/or forwarded by email.
The reports may be designed directly in Microsoft Word and saved as Word
documents or as Acrobat PDF format.
Automatic
Lung Function Interpretation software “ALFI”
ALFI is a
powerful automatic lung function interpretation software. This module integrated
in the PDI software help you to improve the lung function interpretation. It
automatically assesses measurements according to selected criteria and normal
values from a broad library of authors (ECCS/ZAP, NHANES III, Knudson, etc.)
Guidelines
GINA and GOLD classifications are integrated for desease classification.
The ALFI
software is yearly updated and may be downloaded from our website but of course
you can also use your own predicted equations and edit the standard
interpretation software algorithms making this piece of software a very useful
tool for research applications.
High quality flow sensor with BTPS compensation.

An automatic BTPS compensation is provided inside the spirometer
(measurement of the ambiant temperature and humidity).
V.O.M. (Variable Orifice Membrane) Pneumotachograh offers a number of great
benefits including:
• Higher linearity and better sensitivity to very low flow
• Insensitivity to humidity, no heating is required.
• Extremely low flow resistance and dead space.
• No moving parts and no inertia corrections to overcome.
Quality
control.
Because
the Pocket-Spiro use flow sensors containing RFID chips
(Radio
Frequency Identification Devices) you have a complete tracability of the tests.
The Quality
Control log book shows the date of calibration, date of the tests, calibration
factors,BTPS factors and serial number of the flow sensor used.
A quick and
easy to use calibration software allows you to check your system in lest than 1
minute with a calibration pump as described in the ATS/ERS 2005 standardisation.
A specific test allows you to check the linearity of your device.
Hygienic
and cost effective solution
The removable
flow sensors may be easily cleaned in disinfection solution. Of course a
bacterial filter may be used in case of patient infection.
Manufacturing :
In compliance
with EN 46001 and European Directive EEC 93/42.
