Hydrogen is one of the gases produced in the intestinal lumen by bacteriological breakdown of carbohydrates.

 

The H2 Breath Test  Monitor  has been developed to provide quick and reliable diagnosis of Gastro-intestinal disorders measuring carbohydrate breakdown deficiencies and/or malabsorption.

 

The technique of exhaled breath hydrogen monitoring is normally well tolerated by patients of all ages.

The electrochemical measurement provides a reliable, inexpensive and rapid system of the measurement of this carbohydrate deficiency.

 

Particularly good for lactose intolerance screening, the instrument also gives good indication of excessive bacterial growth in the gut and can help in timing passage through the small intestine

 

The H2 Breath Test Monitor is surgically non-invasive and is supplied with convenient sampling systems for pediatrics and adults, thereby making the instrument very patient friendly.

 

Calibration checks are easily carried out by the user with the calibration system provided and each 24 liters gas cylinder provides approximately 1.000 test samples.

 

The clinically proven technique, ease of use and cost effectiveness means the H2 Breath Test Monitor is becoming a standard diagnostic tool for Gastroenterologists, Pediatricians and clinical Biochemists.
